The Mother's Day that would never be

Eight years ago tomorrow, I lost a baby on the eve of what was to be my first Mother's Day. I wrote this piece while sobbing in front of my computer, and I think I scared even my dog, who came half way through to lie on my feet.

My public plea over at Families in the Loop for sensitivity this Mother's Day, because I know I'm not the only one for whom this day is bittersweet:
